DOES MY DEVICE NEED TO BE SWITCHED ON FOR NUKE TO WORK?

Yes!  Your device must be switched on to enable Nuke to secure your device.

Without  any power  Nuke cannot receive any remote  triggers from you.   Nuke requires active network connectivity (cellular/wifi) to be able to receive a remote lock signal. If the SIM is changed or removed, SIM Sentinel will lock the device.

DOES MY DEVICE NEED A DATA CONNECTION FOR NUKE TO WORK?

Yes, it does. The device must have a data connection to enable NukeYourMobile to transmit and track the location your device.

However, Nuke’s SIM Sentinel feature does not require a data connection for it to work. Consequently, if your device is stolen whilst it is in airplane mode and your SIM is removed or swapped by the thief SIM Sentinel will immediately and automatically lock the device.

DOES MY DEVICE NEED GPS FOR NUKE TO WORK?

No!   However, you will get a far better and more accurate result if you make sure you have GPS

enabled on your device.

It'll be easier for you to find your missing device if GPS is enabled.

Rest assured, Fortress makes the most efficient possible use of the device’s GPS receiver.  When a Nuke request is made to your device, Fortress turns the GPS on while Nuke is running and then turns it off again when the Nuke is completed or deactivated.  This helps to conserve your phone’s battery charge.  Getting the best location results can take several minutes.

Nuke only uses GPS to pinpoint your location when you explicitly request it.

If your GPS is enabled, that simply means that apps have the ability to use it.  It does not mean the

GPS is being used continuously or that your location is constantly being tracked.

WILL SIM SENTINEL WORK IN AIRPLANE MODE?

Yes! SIM Sentinel does not require a data connection for it to work.

If your device is stolen whilst it is in airplane mode and your SIM is removed or swapped by the thief

SIM Sentinel will immediately and automatically lock the device. Note:  Your device must be powered on for SIM Sentinel to work.

WILL I BE ABLE TO REMOTELY TRIGGER NUKEYOURMOBILE ON A DEVICE IN AIRPLANE MODE?

No. Airplane mode shuts off all network and data connections to and from your device. This prevents

Nuke from remotely accessing and securing your device.

Unfortunately, there is no way for Fortress to remotely remove your phone from Airplane Mode so as to enable your network connectivity.

But....irrespective of your device's connection status we vehemently recommend that in the event that your device is lost or stolen you always trigger Nuke. This is because as soon as your device regains network or data connectivity Nuke will automatically become active and immediately lock, wipe and track your device.

Note: Your device must be powered on and have a network connection for Nuke to be able to be remotely triggered.
